Home Builders Association Donates $15,000 to DOORWAYS

On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), 2024 HBA President Jason Hughes (T.R. Hughes Homes) (left) presented a $15,000 donation to DOORWAYS’ director of development Jim Timmerberg.

The donation will be used to replace buckled and cracked flooring in one DOORWAYS’ permanent housing buildings that has 20 units and houses 24 residents with no to very-low income and deteriorating from HIV and other chronic health conditions associated with poverty. DOORWAYS is a Housing First agency, offering individuals and families housing and then providing resource and empowerment programs to address circumstances that are destabilizing their lives.

The HBA is a local trade association of more than 600 member firms representing the residential construction industry. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation, the HBA’s charitable arm, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing assistance to people or organizations with special shelter needs.
