Home Builders Association Donates $16,630 to Youth In Need

January 31, 2024

On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), 2024 HBA President Jason Hughes (T.R. Hughes Homes) (left) presented a $16,630 donation to Youth In Need grants writer Emily Henson.

The donation will go toward updating kitchen cabinets at the organization’s Transitional Living Program (TLP) group home, a 10-bed residential home for youth ages 16-21. The update will help to ensure the youth have a safe home while in crisis, and provide vulnerable young adults with a space that is clean and comfortable. Youth In Need’s goal with TLP is to prepare the youth living at the home who have experienced significant, often traumatic, life challenges with the skills they need to live a successful, independent life in a warm, aesthetically pleasing space while they move toward independence.

The HBA is a local trade association of more than 600 member firms representing the residential construction industry. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation, the HBA’s charitable arm, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing assistance to people or organizations with special shelter needs.
