Since 1998, special efforts in the St. Louis area have been made to educate people on how to improve their Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) via improved housekeeping efforts as well as with specialty products/services when they redecorate, remodel or build new homes. As a result, the American Lung Association of Eastern Missouri and the Home Builders Association of Greater St. Louis continue to work together on the Gateway Healthy House program.
A life-size educational display at the HBA Home & Garden Show each Spring continues to highlight unique construction practices, product/service choices and safety issues for individuals with severe health sensitivities and poor IAQ levels. Printed materials (along with this web-based information) have been designed to help consumers battle IAQ issues year-round.
