The HBA staff gathers residential building permit information.  Much information is dependent upon the building permit forms that are compiled by the many local-permit issuing cities and counties.  Due to non-standard forms and reporting requirements among these various local governments, 100% accuracy is nearly impossible to assure. The reports represent new construction figures from St. Louis County, Jefferson County, Franklin County, Lincoln County, Warren County and the City of St. Louis.

There are two types of reports available: the comparison report and the percentage breakdown report. The comparison report shows new construction broken down between single family and multifamily units. Note: All single family attached homes are classified as single family homes, not multifamily. The percentage breakdown report explains how much single family and multi family permits have increased or decreased over the period of the last 12 months and month to month.
