Please review the following Frequently Asked Questions to help get you started toward obtaining a quote:
What is the Home Builders Benefit Plan?
The Home Builders Benefit Plan will offer opportunities to provide benefits typically enjoyed by larger companies - including lower premiums and more coverage options - to eligible HBA members with 2-50 employees. Eligible HBA members include companies who are home builders or remodelers, or companies which directly support home building and remodeling, such as subcontractors and building material suppliers. Please check the list of eligible business categories (Standard Industry Classification Codes) here.
Is the Home Builders Benefit Plan a group health insurance plan?
The simple answer is yes, however, the Home Builders Benefit Plan is not a plan where everyone has one large group rate. Each member company will apply separately and have their own rates, but the rates will be based on the fact that all HBA members are being considered together as a large group.

What if my company has more than 50 employees?
While your company is not able to be part of the Home Builders Benefit Plan, the HBA is pleased to be able to offer a 5% discount on rates for the same national insurance carrier through a discount for HBA-member companies with 51-99 employees. Contact your broker to see if this option might be a fit for your company.
Are there any fees associated with joining the Home Builders Benefit Plan?
Each company that enrolls in the Home Builders Benefit Plan or takes advantage of the HBA-member 5% discount program will be responsible for an annual Access Fee payable to the HBA. The Access Fee will be the equivalent of $5 per employee enrolled per month, payable at the time the employer decides to either enroll in the Plan or take advantage of the 5% discount program. The Access Fee will be utilized to defray expenses incurred by the HBA related to this member benefit.
