Home Builders Association Donates $10,000 to Sun Ministries, Inc.

On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), 2016 HBA President Kim Hibbs of Hibbs Homes (left) presented a $10,000 donation to Terry Goodwin, executive director of Sun Ministries, Inc., and Suzette Goodwin, executive assistant at Sun Ministries.

The donation will be used to update the HVAC systems in two houses on Agnes Street in Hyde Park owned by Sun Ministries. The program’s vision takes people from homelessness or hopelessness and helps them to become whole home owners. Their work in Hyde Park focuses on rebuilding the lives of the people in that neighborhood by implementing an innovative plan that will repair the deteriorated buildings and promote homeownership in the city.

The HBA is a local trade association of nearly 600 member firms representing the residential construction industry. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation, the HBA’s charitable arm, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing assistance to people or organizations with special shelter needs.
