Homes of Our Own

Students throughout the St. Louis area are becoming junior home builders thanks to the Home Builders Association of St. Louis and Eastern Missouri’s (HBA) “Homes of Our Own” program. “Homes of Our Own,” developed by the National Association of Home Builders, educates children on the home building process.

The HBA can provide presenters for your Career Day. The presenters are local builders, remodelers and associate HBA members. Associate members are companies that provide supplies or services to the home building industry including – plumbers, electricians, windows and door companies, floor layers, surveyors, appliance dealers and much more. The presenter will discuss their own job, share facts on home building and the environment and can answer any questions the students may have about home building.

When the presentation is over the students will receive hammer-shaped pencils as a reminder of the visit.
